I am an evolutionary ecologist committed to research, conservation, and teaching
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Spelman College, where my research integrates genetic and genomic tools to address questions in conservation biology. My work focuses on the conservation of plant species across both in situ and ex situ contexts, with an emphasis on understanding how ecological and evolutionary processes shape patterns of gene flow, inbreeding, and genetic diversity. By applying theory from population genetics, ecology, and evolutionary biology, my research aims to inform conservation strategies that support the long-term persistence of threatened and rare plant populations.
